Job description

ABOUT PROVIDER RESOURCES INC.

Provider Resources Inc. (PRI) is a PE-backed healthcare services company administering Independent Dispute Resolution under the No Surprises Act. We are building an accounting function with defined career paths, strong fundamentals, and a culture of ownership and continuous improvement.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Senior Accountant owns assigned financial statement areas with full accountability for accuracy, close timing, and audit readiness. This is the right role for someone with strong GAAP fundamentals who takes real ownership of their accounts — someone who knows the why behind the accounting, not just the mechanics. You will support technical accounting research when directed and provide guidance to junior staff, with a clear path toward deeper technical ownership over time. No Big 4 background required. This role reports to the Assistant Controller.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
  • Own monthend and yearend close for assigned financial statement areas — JEs, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Serve as the goto resource for the team on your accounts; understand and explain the why behind the accounting treatment
  • Conduct preliminary technical research when directed and present initial findings to the Assistant Controller
  • Maintain auditready workpapers at all times and serve as the primary contact for auditors on assigned areas
  • Provide guidance and work review to Accountants and Accounting Clerks
  • WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
  • 3 to 5 years of fullcycle accounting with demonstrated close ownership and reconciliation depth
  • Strong working knowledge of GAAP — applies independently and can articulate the rationale, not just the entries
  • CPA preferred; candidates actively pursuing certification are supported
  • No Big 4 background required — industry, regional firm, or government contracting experience equally valued
  • Advanced Excel and ERP experience required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or similar is required
