SUMMARY

As an Assistant Controller, you will play a key role in our Finance organization by supporting the Controller and Chief Financial Officer in managing the day-to-day accounting operations of the business. You will gain hands-on experience in financial reporting, account analysis, budgeting, and process improvement while partnering with business leaders across the organization. This position is ideal for a motivated accounting professional looking to contribute to the company's continued growth while expanding their financial leadership and operational expertise.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
  • Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines


RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Accounting

  • Support the Controller with day-to-day accounting procedures, ensuring operational, administrative, and financial transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate general ledger accounts
  • Analyze general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies, correcting errors and inconsistencies in financial recoords
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting


Financial Analysis & Budgeting

  • Perform detailed expense analysis and review budget-to-actual variances
  • Partner with branch locations, executives, and key departments to analyze financial performance and explain variances
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts


Reconciliations & Compliance

  • Monitor balance sheet account reconciliations and review variances between current year, prior year, and budgeted results
  • Verify daily cash, check, and credit card deposits against the point-of-sale systems
  • Assist with sales tax filings, audits, and compliance with company accounting policies and regulatory requirements


Audit & Financial Controls

  • Support year-end financial close activities and coordinate with external auditors and tax preparers
  • Assist in maintaining internal controls and identifying opportunities to improve accounting procedures and financial processes
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and compliant with company policies and generally accepted accounting principles

Reporting & Administrative Support

  • Prepare financial reports, account analyses, and supporting documentation
