Job description

LEMOINE, a Great Place to Work®-Certified company is currently seeking an experienced Healthcare Assistant Superintendent in the New Orleans, LA area. The Assistant Superintendent will assist and support the field operations staff on a project with scheduling, field coordination, safety, quality control, and supervision of subcontracted forces, all in an effort to minimize risk and to keep the focus on Lemoine's Foundations for Successful Execution. The Assistant Superintendent may be responsible for the construction of a small project (s) with annual revenue of up to $7 million (or projects of equal complexity/scope).

Job Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily activities of trade contractors and craft workforce, including tracking production, manpower, time, and equipment inventory.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, workmanship, and resource allocation to ensure adherence to schedule and quality standards.
  • Interpret and maintain contract documents; support subcontractors by clarifying scope, reviewing drawings, and managing RFIs.
  • Assist in project planning, including site logistics, sequencing, material deliveries, and development of short-term and overall schedules.
  • Track project progress, update schedules, identify critical path impacts, and help implement corrective actions to maintain timelines.
  • Promote and enforce job site safety practices, including conducting orientations, monitoring compliance, maintaining documentation, and ensuring clean and hazard-free work areas.
  • Support QA/QC processes through inspections, documentation, testing coordination, and ensuring compliance with contract and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage financial and risk-related activities, including cost tracking, invoice verification, purchasing, and understanding contractual obligations.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to team members while supporting training, development, and workforce growth initiatives.

Required Qualifications:

 
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited University in Construction Management, Engineering, or related curriculum or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of professional experience in field supervisory role for commercial general contractor or subcontractor.
  • Strong working knowledge of project planning and scheduling for construction trades (all disciplines).
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial construction practices.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling software programs.
  • Proven skills in the areas of math as well as excellent teamwork, communication (written and oral), and interpersonal skills.

Physical Demands:

The physical and mental demands of this position must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move 50 pounds.
