The Assistant Construction Manager at Lennar focuses on supporting the supervision of construction projects from start to finish, including coordination and record-keeping. This role provides cross-training in other departments as needed, enabling the candidate to progress to other positions in Construction Management.

Your Responsibilities on the Team
  • Assist Construction Managers with the management of job sites and supervising daily trade partner activities in accordance with job schedules and business partner scopes of work; walking assigned homes twice a day.
  • Ensure job site cleanliness, safety, and building code compliance as required by State & Federal guidelines; maintain safety logs and assist in conducting regular safety meetings on-site.
  • Assist the Construction Manager in maintaining records of job changes, including Option Orders and Purchase Orders.
  • Act as secondary approval for trade partner invoices regarding work completion and quality.
  • Maintain a daily log of job site occurrences.
  • Support construction activities, including scheduling and supervising trade partners, and assisting in resolving issues raised by inspectors and trade partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, customer care, and management, to ensure effective communication and problem resolution.
  • Provide trade partner feedback to Construction Manager concerning the trade partner's timeliness and attention to detail, with significant bearing on trade partner relationships.

Requirements
  • 1-3 years' experience with home building/construction preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • College Degree or equivalent education preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Valid auto insurance coverage.
  • Strong multitasking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Physical & Office/Site Presence Requirements:
Regular, in-person attendance at Company communities/job sites and offices during regular work hours is an essential function of this job. Requires the ability to work more than eight hours per day in the confined quarters of a construction trailer, the ability to operate a motor vehicle, read plans, climb stairs and ladders, bend, stoop, reach, lift, move and/or carry equipment which may be in excess of 50 pounds. Job may require occasional operation of construction equipment. Finger dexterity may be required to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
