Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer


Looking to solve water resource problems for awesome clients while working in a dynamic environment with energetic associates? Hydraterra Professionals (HtP) is expanding and seeking a Senior Civil / Environmental Engineer for our team.

Hydraterra Professionals (HtP), a specialized environmental engineering firm, has been providing southeastern Pennsylvania with exceptional consulting and engineering services since 2007. Whether we’re designing state-of-the-art treatment plants, analyzing a distribution or collection system, completing an Act 537 Plan, or upgrading a pumping station, HtP is focused on offering practical water resource solutions for current problems and future challenges. 

We are looking for that special Pennsylvania licensed engineer with a passion for water resources to lead our productive, collaborative team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, self-motivated, embraces teamwork, and has the desire to grow and develop professionally.

Qualifications:


§  Bachelor’s degree in a related engineering program from an accredited university;

§  PE License;

§  10+ years of environmental engineering or related experience;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills;
  • Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge;
  • Knowledge of electronic equipment and computer hardware and software (CAD, ArcGIS, etc.);
  • Proficient in, Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook;
  • Must be available and willing to travel as needed;
  • Possess a valid U.S. driver’s license.

Duties:

  • Develop a complete understanding of the services HtP provides to clients;
  • Lead teams in the preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations;
  • Lead and direct the development and design of various projects;
  • Show complete understanding of the PA Act 537 Sewage Facility Planning process;
  • Show complete understanding of NPDES and WQM permitting process;
  • Provide construction management and oversight to complete capital improvement projects.

 


Management Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Senior Managers to develop the scope of work and budget for various projects;
  • Interact and attend client meetings while maintaining excellent client relations; 
  • Coordinate team activities and effectively communicate project status through written and oral reports;
  • Provide expert client management and business development skills for public and private water and wastewater projects;
  • Supervise and support the work of others, including junior staff;
  • Demonstrate the ability to win contracts and successfully deliver contracts within budget.

Technical responsibilities:

  • Design of projects involving the supplying of potable water and the proper treatment and disposal of wastewater and sanitary sewage;
  • Design of pumping stations, wastewater conveyance systems, water distribution systems, pressure-reducing valves, and force mains;
  • Design of gravity and low-pressure sewers for the collection of wastewater;
  • Hydraulic modeling of existing and proposed distribution and collection systems;
  • Preparation of environmental documentation related to water resources and regulatory program compliance;
  • Conduct feasibility studies for the construction of water supply systems, water and wastewater treatment plants, or wastewater collection systems;
  • Design wet weather projects including CSO/SSO facilities, wastewater treatment plants, sewers, tunnels support facilities and pump stations;
  • Demonstrate experience in developing and implementing computer models of systems.
