Job Description

Candidates must have:

• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment problems

• Cause identification/FMEA experience

• Familiar with PLCs, DCS, and HMI systems

• Good manual dexterity, ability to climb stairs/ladders and walk a couple miles a day, and withstand a very warm environment on occasion (80-100F)

• Plans and designs manufacturing processes in industrial plant. Maximizes efficiency by analyzing layout of equipment, workflow, assembly methods, and work force utilization.

• Determines parts and tools needed in order to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specification. 

• May require a bachelor's degree in engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. 

• Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. 

• Works under immediate supervision. 

• Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment. 

• Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.

• Work as part of a team by providing facilities management, manufacturing engineering, equipment readiness, equipment reliability, and operational activities at the  Aerospace-South Bend site. 

• You will be trained to become a process owner and subject matter expert of High Temperature Furnaces within the Aerospace Wheel & Braking Systems Integrated Supply Chain team. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for auditing, training and certify operators on manufacturing operations of your assigned process.  

• This will include learning the furnace operating process equipment, recording and analyzing process data for specification compliance, assisting with fault diagnosis, and emergency operation procedures.  

• You will provide manufacturing expertise and ensure work instructions, manufacturing methods and equipment, equipment operability, workflow, and pre-established guidelines are followed to perform the operations of the equipment.

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.

• Must be a US Citizen due to contractual requirements
