Job description

The Hospitality Farmer is a hands-on working farm position that supports daily farm operations while also engaging with guests as part of the Castle Hot Springs experience. This role requires strong farm skills, physical endurance, and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests. The focus of the work is on the farm, with guest interaction built on a foundation of practical farm knowledge.
Job Functions:
  • Perform daily farm work including planting, harvesting, crop maintenance, and post-harvest handling
  • Support soil health and regenerative practices including composting and bed preparation
  • Assist with animal care programs including chickens and egg production as needed
  • Use and maintain farm tools and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Maintain clean, organized, and functional farm spaces
  • Conduct scheduled farm tours for resort guests with groups of up to 25 people
  • Engage with guests by answering questions and providing education about the farm and its practices
  • Represent the farm in a professional, knowledgeable, and approachable manner
  • Work closely with the culinary team to support farm-to-table programming and ingredient flow
  • Collaborate with bar, spa, and guest experience teams as farm needs intersect with the resort
  • Record observations, production notes, and basic farm data using digital tools and spreadsheets
  • Support a wide range of farm and resort needs as they arise
Qualification Requirements:
Required
  • Prior on-farm and agricultural work experience
  • Ability to perform physical farm work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform standing, walking, squatting, harvesting, and tool-based work
  • Strong interest in regenerative farming practices and hands-on food production
  • Appreciation for food and farm-to-table dining, with the ability to work directly with the culinary team
  • Comfortable engaging with guests and speaking to small groups in a professional manner
  • Ability to understand, communicate, and represent farm systems accurately
  • Ability to observe, track, and record basic farm data and activities
  • Experience using digital tools for basic record keeping including spreadsheets such as Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, and professional demeanor
  • Adaptable and able to respond to the evolving needs of a diverse working farm within a resort environment
