Employment Coach

  • Pay: $16 per hour based on experience.
  • Monday - Friday, (weekends as needed) (25-32 hours per week)

Join Emory Valley Center as an Employment Coach and play a vital role in empowering individuals receiving services to lead self-directed, fulfilling lives as active members of their communities. In this rewarding position, you will provide personalized support, coaching, and training to help people pursue meaningful employment opportunities, aligning services with their personal goals and the Person-Centered Support Plan (PCSP). Your efforts will promote independence by identifying natural supports and enabling technologies, with the goal of reducing paid support where appropriate, all while ensuring services are delivered with fidelity and compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

- Provide direct support, coaching, and training to individuals seeking employment, tailored to their goals and preferences.

- Assist people in developing skills necessary for employment success and community integration.

- Identify and leverage natural supports and assistive technologies to promote independence.

- Monitor and ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, fidelity standards, and regulatory requirements.

- Collaborate with people supported, families, and team members to develop and update Person-Centered Support Plans.

- Promote a positive, empowering environment that encourages self-advocacy and community engagement.

- Maintain accurate documentation of services, progress, and outcomes.

- Contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives and uphold the mission and values of Emory Valley Center.


Skills and Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or experience in supported employment or community integration preferred.

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and empower individuals.

- Knowledge of person-centered planning, supported employment strategies, and assistive technology.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive environment.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for community-based support.

Requirements


  • High school diploma (or equivalent).
  • Six months' experience in a field or closely related field.
  • Enabling Technology Integration Specialist (ETIS) preferred.
  • Obtain and maintain Training Resource Network Certification (TRN)
  • Must have a valid Tennessee driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Duties may require occasional after-hours work and travel to organizational sites.
  • Required training/certifications provided by the organization including CPR/First Aid.
