Position Summary
Join Whitworth University and serve as an Assistant Swim Coach, where you'll play a pivotal role in mentoring and inspiring student-athletes to excel in both their athletic and personal growth journeys. As a key member of our coaching staff, you'll support the development of our men's and women's swim teams, contributing to recruiting efforts, refining individual athlete skills, and strategically planning practices.
Your responsibilities will extend to coordinating travel, providing mentorship, overseeing meet setups, and assisting with various administrative tasks. If you're passionate about coaching, integrating your Christian faith into your work, and empowering athletes to reach their fullest potential, we invite you to apply and be part of our campus community.
Core Responsibilities
Swim Coaching | 60%
  • Individual athlete development: skill, speed, strength training, and conditioning.
  • Commit time, energy, and thought into mentoring and investing in the lives of the student-athletes in the program.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of practices.
Recruiting and Team Support | 30%
  • Assist in the recruitment and retention of qualified student-athletes.
  • Assist in the organization and administration of team travel.
  • Assist in the organization and administration of home meets.
Other | 10%
  • Assist with Athletic Department projects and events.
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach.

Qualifications and Core Competencies
