Work term length: 4-months

What you'll be doing

  • Provide administrative and operational support throughout the underwriting process, including data entry, report ordering, and maintaining policy information within internal systems 
  • Partner with colleagues across the Commercial Underwriting team to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner 
  • Support service level commitments by consistently meeting quality, accuracy, and productivity expectations 
  • Develop a strong understanding of underwriting guidelines, workflows, and internal processes to complete work with confidence and precision 
  • Assist with general administrative duties and contribute to ad hoc projects and team initiatives as required

What you bring

  • Strong computer skills, including typing proficiency and comfort navigating multiple systems 
  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality of work 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with a professional and collaborative approach 
  • Demonstrated initiative, reliability, and a willingness to learn and grow 
  • High school diploma required; post-secondary education is considered an asset 
  • Progress toward a Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation is an asset 
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is an asset

The hourly compensation for the role starts at $22.50 per hour and will increase based on factors including but not limited to, skills, education, experience, and the recommended rates as set by the respective educational institution.
