SCOPE
The primary role of the Project Manager is to act as the central point of focus throughout the entire project life cycle, spanning from conceptualization to system acceptance. Their involvement typically commences during the project bidding phase and resumes post-contract notification. During this period, the Project Manager oversees the development or release of the budget, project schedule, approval drawings, and the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor purchase orders/contracts.
A kick-off meeting is conducted to address site mobilization, deliveries, installation schedules, and any customer concerns before the commencement of the project. Subsequently, the Project Manager initiates, monitors, and ensures the successful completion of the installation, following established project implementation procedures. Post-customer training and system commissioning, the manager ensures the fulfillment of all close-out responsibilities.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
An engineering or technical management degree is preferred, but not mandatory. This individual must possess a strong analytical, managerial, and technical aptitude and be able to read and interpret blueprints. Being proficient in AutoCAD as well as other computer software is most desirable. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and motivational skills are mandatory, as is a general knowledge of material handling equipment and electrical system control procedures. Contract exposure is also helpful.
SPECIFIC DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Utilize AutoCAD for drawing tasks, completing layouts, and designs by utilizing a Senior Applications Specialist.
  • Acquire mechanical and electrical bids in the proposal phase.
  • Obtain equipment and conveyor quotes.
  • Assist in bid development, defining scope, and identifying job costs.
  • Ensure timely submission of bid packages.
  • Organize project information in the “Project File Folder” post-award.
  • Review bid proposals with the Sales Associate.
  • Ensure compliance with general conditions in the customer’s contract.
  • Develop a detailed Job Schedule covering design, procurement, shipment, installation, and systems testing/acceptance.
  • Create and track Project Budget against actual costs.
  • Provide Schedules of Values and Submittals Schedules if required.
  • Release and track purchases or fabrication orders via a Vendor Purchase Order List.
  • Obtain documented commitments on promised ship dates.
  • Coordinate site deliveries with the Site Coordinator.
  • Develop a detailed Installation Plan with subcontractor input.
  • Monitor subcontractor installation progress daily through site manager.
  • Resolve field problems promptly to prevent cost overruns.
  • Develop preliminary punch lists and conduct a final review of customer punch lists.
  • Ensure completion of Change Order Forms for work beyond the original scope.
  • Monitor timely completion of deliverables (O amp;M manuals, spare parts lists, as-built drawings, training documentation).
  • Maintain CRM Project Files, assigning deliverables to other departments when needed.
  • Regularly update CRM with project progress
