Assistant Coach - Dallas

Seasonal Dallas, TX, US

Position Summary:

Assists the head coach in carrying out assigned responsibilities. Provides activity supervision, training and coaching to student athletes as assigned. Actively works to ensure the fulfillment of team, department and school goals within their sport. Sports available: Football, Volleyball, Cross County, Track, Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, Softball, Cheer

Position Objective:

Primary goal is to teach and promote the glorification of God through the pursuit of excellence in athletics. Additionally, charged to use leadership, supervisory and teaching skills to promote the development of the individual program and all student-athletes.

Spiritual Requirements:

Coram Deo Academy hires individuals that profess the historic Christian faith. Essential Job Functions:

  • Assists in implementing athletic objectives
  • Assumes responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities
  • Assumes supervisory control over athletes and teams assigned
  • Be in regular attendance at all contests and practice sessions
  • Instills discipline, work ethic, respect and perseverance in athletes
  • Applies discipline in a firm but positive manner
  • Emphasizes safety; is aware of best training procedures and injury preventative actions
  • Conducts self and teams in an ethical manner during contests and practice
  • Instructs players in rules of the game, rule changes, new developments, and innovative ideas

Qualifications:

  • Be dedicated to the historic Christian faith and the classical Christian approach

  • Exhibit the giftings and desire necessary to coach in their designated sport
  • Have prior playing/coaching experience in the assigned sport

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

  • Works in a highly challenging environment dealing with a wide variety of deadlines and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
  • Works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
  • Tasks involve the ability to exert heavy physical effort in heavy work, including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and crawling, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and/ or pulling of moderately heavy objects and materials weighing 20 to 50 pounds
