 Assistant Workshop Technician

Job Description:

The assistant workshop technician is responsible for unloading and unpacking incoming shipments, verifying the accuracy of orders, and preparing items to ship. This position is a hybrid role responsible for assisting the lead workshop technician on site.

Job Duties:

  • Oversee projects,maintain,testand calibrate a variety of electricalsystemscomponents and equipment.
  • Assistwith picking and packing shipments
  • Help answer RMA and technical related questions.Assistancewith warranty claims and invoices
  • Repair and install new fixtures, wiring,circuitsand motors.
  • Interpret electrical codes and diagrams to complete electrical     repair and installation tasks, read schematics and diagrams of project requirements andinitiatingappropriate electricalinstallations and makingaccuratedecisions
  • Overseeing projects,maintaining,testingand calibrating variety electrical systems,componentsand equipment 
  • Carry outtimelypreventive maintenance actions, detailed inspections on switchgear, circuit panels,cableand forklift
  • Adhere to safety protocols, OSHAstandardsand building codes in installation of systems, operation of equipment and handling of materials
  • Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles,orcontainers, by hand or using trucks, tractors, or other equipment.
  • Sortshipmentsbefore loading and unloading.
  • Attach identifying tags to containers/shelvesor mark them with identifying information.
  • Read work orders or receive oral instructions todeterminework assignments or material or equipment needs.
  • Stack shipmentsindesignatedlocations using pallets or cargo boards.
  • Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previousexperience in warehouse or retail environment preferred
  • Electricianknowledge preferred
  • Physically Able toliftatleast50 pounds
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Physically able to stand forlong periodsof time
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
