Job description

SUMMARY

The Lead Security Facility Assistant is responsible for leading the security facility staff at the Beans and Bread Resource Center. These duties include leading the initiative on safety and security, maintaining a safe, peaceful, and respectful atmosphere both inside and outside of the Center daily. Assures that all janitorial tasks for the building are completed in a satisfactory manner and all facility related issues are submitted and reported to the supervisor.

PRIMARY DUTIES
  • Provides security for all activities and services on a daily basis, including rotating inside and outside of the facility and addressing client disciplinary issues as needed.
  • Responds to client crisis situations using CPI methods of intervention, and completes all necessary documentation related to incidents including client disciplinary log and incident reports.
  • Will serve as the lead person to coordinate and execute cleaning duties. Manages the reception area including greeting and signing-in all guests and visitors, answering and directing calls and taking messages.
  • Assures that Daily/Weekly/Monthly Schedule of Janitorial Tasks for the building are completed in a satisfactory and timely manner per posted schedule, including ensuring that all bathrooms are clean and have sufficient supplies on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for storing janitorial supplies in proper location. Maintains inventory of all janitorial supplies and submits order requests to supervisor.
  • Conducts and schedules a daily neighborhood security & trash patrol with other team members.
  • Opens the site daily and ensures there is adequate security facility staff coverage at all times including holidays and inclement weather events.
  • Inspects building for needed repairs and reports to supervisor. Supervisor will evaluate the impact on budget, and, if approved, Lead Security Facility Assistant will submit a maintenance request to facilities team.

SECONDARY DUTIES.

  • Treat all guests with dignity and respect and create a welcoming environment.
  • Assist Meal Services Coordinator with bringing in and putting away in-kind donations.
  • Assist clients with taking showers, doing laundry, and receiving mail.
  • Coordinate with case managers about appointments.
  • Monitor cameras for incidental matters as well as providing videos if requested by police or the courts.
  • Participates in staff meetings, trainings, and other meetings as requested.
  • Upholds the vision, mission and values of St. Vincent de Paul.
  • Assists with and attends special events held by the Center and St. Vincent de Paul as necessary.
  • Supports a welcoming and positive environment for volunteers and works with them effectively.
  • Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma required.
  • 3 years' experience in a security related position.
  • Ability to evaluate situations, make decisions and react quickly and calmly in emergency situations.
  • Be readily available during hours of operation, Monday through Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, for emergencies and act as on-call manager upon request.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Must have the basic proficiency of reading and writing of the English language.
  • Ability to relate in a courteous, non-judgmental manner with persons from all ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds.
  • Required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
