The technician is expected to work independently with network infrastructure while also completing day-to-day field service assignments as required, including POS support, deskside support, workstation and peripheral service, hardware deployment, troubleshooting, documentation, and customer support.

Assignments are based on technician skills, training, experience, tools, availability, and project requirements. The role requires flexibility to move between cabling, network installation, end-user support, and general field technician work based on daily business needs.

ROLE EXPECTATION

Operate independently, follow technical procedures carefully, communicate professionally, and support a broad mix of network, cabling, POS, deskside, and field service needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, terminate, test, label, route, dress, and troubleshoot Cat5e/Cat6 cabling in accordance with project requirements.
  • Install and support racks, patch panels, standard switches, routers, firewalls, wireless access points, faceplates, and related network equipment.
  • Perform general field technician work daily as required, including POS, kiosk, workstation, printer, peripheral, and commercial technology support.
  • Provide deskside support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and peripherals.
  • Assist with desktop and laptop deployments, workstation setup, imaging, upgrades, and hardware replacement.
  • Support user account setup, password resets, and basic application troubleshooting.
  • Troubleshoot cabling, connectivity, hardware, software, and common end-user technology issues.
  • Read and follow wiring diagrams, port-mapping tables, technical instructions, and multi-step project procedures.
  • Use web-based or software deployment tools as required to complete assigned work and document results.
  • Coordinate professionally with customers, site contacts, location managers, remote support teams, and project teams.
  • Complete required photos, work orders, tickets, and project documentation accurately and on time.
  • Follow safety requirements, customer site protocols, and project procedures, and maintain a clean, professional work area.
  • Travel to customer locations and work flexible schedules based on business and project needs.
Work Environment and Schedule

Work is performed at commercial customer locations, including active restaurants, QSR and hospitality sites, retail locations, offices, storefronts, and industrial environments. Conditions may include heat, noise, customer foot traffic, ladder work, lift work, and extended periods of physical activity. Schedules may include early mornings, evenings, occasional weekends, extended installation or service windows, and regional travel. Assignments may run 8 hours or more depending on site conditions and project requirements.

Equal Opportunity and Accommodation

Essintial is an equal opportunity employer. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified individuals with disabilities in accordance with applicable law. This description summarizes the general nature of the position and is not intended to contain a comprehensive list of all duties, responsibilities, or qualifications. Duties may be adjusted based on business and project needs.
