Position Summary

The Building Services Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and functionality of the building and property. They oversee the cleaning staff and their activities, manage cleaning operations, and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and sanitization.

This role pays an hourly rate of $18.00-$22.00

About the Venue

The Donald L. Tucker Civic Center features a 12,500-seat arena, 34 luxury suites, 476 club seats, over 54,000 sq. ft. of meeting and exhibition space, and an arena-view restaurant, the Spotlight Grille. The arena is home to Florida State Men's and Women's basketball and is known for its electric atmosphere and fierce home court advantage. Not only a music and sports venue, the arena is also frequently used for trade shows, large catered functions, receptions, religious services, and classes.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness throughout the Donald L. Tucker Civic Center.
  • Vacuum, clean restrooms, wipe surfaces, change trash cans, and perform other cleaning functions as assigned.
  • Coordinate, supervise, and train the post-clean and day-to-day housekeeping crew.
  • Supervise and assist event support staff during events.
  • Assist with the daily maintenance operations of the building.
  • Organize all storage rooms to be in neat and working order.
  • Operate, maintain, and train staff on the proper use of all cleaning equipment (such as vacuums, scrubbers, extractors, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • 2-3 years of previous experience with facility coordination and direct employee supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, train on, and adhere to material data sheets for all cleaning products / chemicals.
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours as required, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, wiping surfaces, changing trash cans, and other cleaning related duties is a plus.
