Position Summary
The Building Maintenance Painter/Porter is responsible for maintaining the overall appearance, cleanliness, and condition of the warehouse, office areas, and facility grounds. This position performs painting, minor repairs, cleaning, and facility improvement projects both inside and outside of the distribution center. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, safety-focused, and capable of handling a variety of maintenance-related tasks to support daily operations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform interior and exterior painting projects including walls, offices, docks, safety markings, railings, equipment, and facility structures.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, scraping, patching, and priming.
  • Maintain warehouse floor markings, pedestrian walkways, safety zones, and traffic lanes.
  • Complete minor building repairs including patching drywall, replacing ceiling tiles, repairing doors, and other general maintenance tasks.
  • Assist with facility improvement projects and warehouse renovations.
  • Operate and maintain painting equipment, hand tools, power tools, ladders, and lifts safely.
  • Remove debris, trash, and unwanted materials from facility areas.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities as assigned.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance shops and storage areas.
  • Assist with seasonal projects such as snow removal, landscaping, pressure washing, and exterior facility upkeep.
  • Identify and report safety concerns, building deficiencies, and repair needs.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Support special projects and other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous painting, maintenance, janitorial, porter, or facilities experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and surface preparation.
  • Ability to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and reach throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, lifts, and elevated platforms.
  • Ability to work in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Work Environment
  • Active distribution warehouse environment.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, paint fumes, and warehouse traffic.
  • Work may be performed both indoors and outdoors.
