Landmark Office Tower – Cleveland, OH

Full-Time

MinuteMen Staffing is seeking an experienced Building Engineer for a premier commercial office complex in downtown Cleveland. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled facilities maintenance professional with strong HVAC and mechanical systems experience to join a well-established property management team.

The immediate priority for this role is supporting the operation and maintenance of steam boiler systems in preparation for the winter season. The successful candidate will work alongside an on-site contractor while also performing daily building inspections and preventative maintenance.

What You'll Do


As a Building Engineer, you'll help ensure the safe, efficient operation of a 1.3-million-square-foot commercial office campus by:

  • Operate, inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Perform daily building rounds to identify leaks, equipment issues, and safety concerns
  • Assist with steam boiler operation and seasonal startup activities
  • Complete preventive maintenance and repairs on building equipment
  • Respond promptly to tenant service requests and work orders
  • Monitor and maintain chillers, heating and cooling systems, pumps, motors, generators, and building automation controls
  • Perform electrical maintenance including lighting, motors, VFDs, transformers, and low-voltage systems
  • Maintain plumbing fixtures, piping, pumps, and drainage systems
  • Complete minor carpentry and general building repairs
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inspection reports, and preventative maintenance documentation
  • Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures while maintaining a clean mechanical room and work environment.

Qualifications


We're looking for someone who has:

  • Experience as a Building Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Facilities Technician, or HVAC Technician
  • Experience working with steam boiler systems (strongly preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC and MEP systems
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical equipment
  • Ability to read and complete work orders and maintenance documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service skills when interacting with tenants and vendors
  • Ability to lift equipment and work in mechanical rooms, rooftops, and other building environments
