Their responsibilities often include preparing ingredients, operating brewing equipment, cleaning and sanitizing tanks, monitoring fermentation, and assisting with packaging. They play a crucial role in maintaining quality and consistency in the brewing process. Assistant Brewers also help with inventory management and may be involved in recipe development or quality control under supervision. This role is a key entry point for those looking to advance in the brewing industry.

What does an assistant brewer do?

Assistant brewers support the production of beer and other alcoholic beverages in a brewery. In this role, you may transport kegs in and out of the facility, study the production of alcoholic drinks, assist with packaging and labeling, and ensure the facility complies with all governmental and industry standards and regulations for producing alcoholic beverages. Assistant brewers often rotate between different positions, focusing exclusively on one task in the brewing process until senior brewers feel you have adequately mastered the job.
