Job description

Join a certified Great Place to Work! Consumers Credit Union is hiring an Assistant Branch Manager for our Waukegan location. We are looking for an experienced retail manager that can build a strong team, can lead by example, and take ownership to ensure the branch is delivering exceptional service to members.

As an Assistant Branch Manager, you’ll partner with the Branch Manager to lead the branch to excellence. You’ll perform in a variety of roles as a banker, concierge, teller, leader, mentor, auditor, and operations expert. You’ll ensure the Branch Specialist team maintains expert knowledge, provides excellent service, and consistently meets CCU's expectations. Success will come easy with the passion, excitement, and positive energy you'll bring to the branch.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Provide coaching, training, and feedback to Branch Specialists. Coordinate activities and schedules. Complete management tasks such as delivering Performance Reviews, Development Plans, and Performance Improvement Plans.
  • Assist members with opening various types of accounts, assisting with escalated service issues, and completing special service requests.
  • Oversee and manage branch responsibilities and operational functions, like ATM, ITM, dispatch, vault, ordering currency, regulatory compliance, and conducting audits.
  • In the absence of the Branch Manager, you will be responsible for running the branch. 

Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or Equivalency is required. 
  • 2 to 5 years of management experience in a retail environment. Financial Services experience is preferred. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish required. 
  • Leadership, people management, mentoring and coaching skills.
  • Service-oriented, professionalism, decision making and judgment skills, and excellent communication skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility to work roughly 45 hours per week between the following hours:
    • Monday – Thursday: 7:45 am-5:45 pm; Friday: 7:45 am-6:45 pm; and Regular Saturdays: 8:15 am-1:45 pm.

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $46,144 - $69,216 per year. This role is eligible for an annual bonus opportunity. A specific salary offer considers factors including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

You will be eligible to participate in the 401(k) savings plan at any time.
