Qualification:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform duties satisfactorily and have the following requirements listed below:

  • High school graduate or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to read/write/speak English.
  • Must be able to work in a manner to ensure your personal safety and that of fellow employees by following Company safety guidelines and following Company policies.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours. Hours may vary by week.
  • Must be able to do moderately strenuous work, ability to lift over 100 pounds and endure long periods of standing/walking as well as continuous strenuous activities such as frequent reaching, bending, or lifting.
  • This position is an outdoor position exposed to all weather conditions.
  • Must have transportation to get to work on time.
  • Must be able to pass a federal Department of Transportation drug screen and physical.


THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • 3+ years' experience driving a commercial truck is preferred.
  • Clean appearance.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, city directories, road maps, load tickets, SDS sheets, and memos.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Drug-free.
  • Valid Class A C.D.L. driver's license with a clean 5-year driving record.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to drive manual transmissions
  • Proficiency in operating piggyback forklifts and moffetts and knuckle boom.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Safely drive flatbed truck
  • Show up on time for work and to the job site
  • Deliver our product to customers
  • Unload product according to customer direction
  • Maintain clean truck
  • Maintain clean driving record
  • Friendly, cooperative interactions with coworkers and customers
  • Communicate location and status to dispatcher
  • Abide by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
  • Daily perform a pre and post-trip safety check on equipment and the truck to assure a safe and operational vehicle.
  • Determine the most effective route to and from the delivery site.
  • Transport and maintain the condition of any of the Raw/Fabricated material as part of the company inventory that can be safely hauled on assigned vehicle.
  • Assist in loading (may be done by a lift truck or by hand) &/or make corrections and adjustments as needed.
  • Verify that the products load onto truck match the load tickets.
  • At the destination/delivery site remove straps and securing and unload product using the boom or forklift/Moffett in the area requested by the customer.
  • Performs all duties assigned by management
