The Pre-Assembly QC Technician checks parts before they enter boat assembly.
The main goal is to find and fix problems early so defects do not move forward in production.

This role inspects upholstery, towers, plastic parts, dashboards, and related components to make sure they fit correctly, function properly, and meet Tigé Boats quality standards.

Key Quality Responsibilities

1. Upholstery Sewing Inspection:

Check seams for strong, even stitching and proper thread tension.

Verify panels, patterns, and seam spacing are aligned and consistent.

Inspect materials for defects such as stains, tears, color issues, or poor edge finishing.

2. Upholstery Stretch and Fit Verification:

Inspect fabric condition and confirm pieces are cut using correct templates.

Verify frames, foam, and padding are prepared correctly before upholstery installation.

Ensure seams and thread strength support proper stretching without damage.

3. Tower Pre-Assembly Inspection:

Inspect materials and components for damage, correct fit, and alignment.

Check weld quality, bolt locations, and overall dimensional accuracy.

Verify coatings or finishes are complete and document issues requiring repair.

4. Plastic Pocket Pre-Assembly Inspection:

Inspect molded parts for flash, warping, short shots, or contamination.

Measure parts to confirm size and proper fit with mating components.

Ensure parts are clean, undamaged, and ready for assembly.

5. Dashboard Pre-Assembly Inspection:

Inspect dashboard components for cosmetic defects and surface quality issues.

Verify mounting points, clips, and brackets align and fit correctly.

Confirm parts are clean, properly trimmed, and ready for installation.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Record inspection results using approved forms or digital systems.
  • Tag and separate nonconforming parts to prevent use.
  • Report problems and repeated issues to the Quality Engineer or supervisor.

Support for Quality Systems:

  • Participate in production walkthroughs and inspections.
  • Provide feedback to improve work instructions and inspection standards.
  • Assist with investigations and improvement efforts to reduce defects.

Compliance, Safety & 5S:

  • Follow all safety rules and wear required PPE.
  • Keep inspection areas clean and organized.

    • Understanding of manufacturing defect prevention principles.
    • Effective communication within cross-functional teams.

Work Environment:

  • Active manufacturing environment including upholstery, plastics, fabrication, and assembly areas.
  • Exposure to fabrics, plastics, adhesives, and fabrication operations.
  • Position requires walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • PPE required in designated work areas.

Performance Expectations:

  • Accuracy and timeliness of inspection documentation.
  • Identification and escalation of recurring quality issues.
