POSITION SUMMARY:

The Birthday Party host will work with the Program Director to promote the highest quality service. The Birthday Party Host will also support the Program Director with oversight of all Birthday Parties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Meet the parent(s) who organized party at the Front Entrance.

2. Explain that you are escorting them to the Party Room so they can set up. 

3. Direct children to locker rooms. Allow parents to supervise children in locker rooms.

4. Clean up MUST begin before the end of the party. Ask parents for assistance. Do not forget to sweep and take down the tables and chairs. ( All cleaning supplies are located in the storage closet by the family changing rooms, the key to the door is behind the front desk). 

5. MUST supervise & assist party while in Community Room. 

6. Trash: empty in large trash cans in back hallway. Be sure to replace the can liner.

7. Responds to all party inquiries and complaints in timely manner.

8. Cell phones are not permitted for Party Hosts. Staff caught on cell phones will be terminated immediately. If you need to call Darrell or Bryce, use Front Desk phone.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent.

2. One to two years related experience preferred.

3. Minimum age requirements may apply; for example, minimum age of 21.

4. Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include: completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens.

5. Completion of YMCA program-specific certifications.

Physical Demands: 

1. Hear noises and distress signals in the aquatic environment, including in the water and anywhere around the zone of responsibility. Remain alert with no lapses of consciousness. 

2. Meet strength and lifting requirements. 

3. See and observe all sections of an assigned zone or area of responsibility.
