Job description

Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Job Description

Join a well-established component parts manufacturer as a Quality Control Technician. This full-time position in our Quality Department seeks an individual with extensive experience in quality control and a strong understanding of various inspection equipment and methods.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and use precision hand gaging and other standard inspection equipment including optical comparators, toolmakers microscopes, and Rockwell Testers.
  • Operate Quality Scanners and CMM Machines.
  • Learn and utilize Keyence machines for quality control.
  • Conduct First Article, first piece, and in-process inspections.
  • Apply G, D&T concepts and implement them effectively.
  • Read and interpret blueprints with precision.
  • Maintain detailed documentation and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Perform in-process checks, final checks, and assemble sampling plans.
  • Identify part traceability and ensure compliance with AS9100 standards.
  • Become certified as a Designated Quality Representative (DQR).

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of quality control experience, preferably in an aerospace, machine shop, or prototype environment.
  • Proficient in operating CMM machines, Scanners, and Keyence Quality machines.
  • Strong skills in layout inspection and expansive knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.
  • Experience with tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gages.
  • Basic computer skills, especially in the Office suite, to assist with reporting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of Keyence quality machines is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and strong articulation skills.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wixom, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
