Position Title: Assistant Basketball Coach (Mens) 
Department: Athletics (ATH)

Reporting Relationships 
Reports to: Supervision is received from the Head Men's Basketball Coach 
Supervision Exercised: Supervision will be exercised over Basketball Program student athletes. 
Job Summary: Will serve as Assistant Basketball Coach. 
Essential Duties
1. Assist in Support the academic initiatives and philosophies of RVC, the athletic department, including:
        a. Mandatory Study Hall Hours
        b. Academic Progress Reports
        c. Mandatory Advising
        d. Student-athlete Academic Credit Requirements
        e. Coordinate struggling student-athletes with tutor, writing center and other campus resources for assistance.
2. Assist in Coordination of all camps, clinics and Basketball events on an annual basis.
3. Assist in Coordination of all transfer activities of Basketball student athletes.
4. Assist in Coordination of the purchasing, maintenance and inventory of athletic equipment for Basketball Program.
5. Assist in Coordination of scheduling and management of team contests, official practices, travel arrangements and facilities utilization for Basketball program.
6. Assist in Coordinating, tracking and implementing a recruitment plan to meet the initiatives of the RVC Athletic Department.
7. Assist in Organizing and running practice sessions and coach games and contests.
8. Assist in Supervision of student-athletes during practice, contests, and travel.
9. Assist to enforce adherence to the RVC and NJCAA Student Athlete Code of Conduct.
10. Comply with all NJCAA rules.
11. Assist in reporting all results on RVC Athletics website and social media.

1. Must possess the ability to keep information confidential.
2. Ability to effectively communicate to both players, support staff and supervisors.
3. Ability to navigate through Microsoft platforms using analytical data pertinent to Department and Sport requirements.
4. Capable of using independent judgment to solve problems and complex situations.
5. Exceptional interpersonal skills are required.
6. Effective oral and written communications skills.
7. Ability to work with a diverse population.
8. Responsibility to maintain Social Media platforms according to all institutional and department guidelines.
9. Ability to integrate, evaluate and actively recruit within and outside of the greater-Rockford community.
10. Must possess knowledge on Golf that allows an ability to design and execute practices for player and team development continuously.

An Associate's degree is required. The candidate must possess strong organizational skills. The candidate must be supportive of the initiation and ongoing development of the Colleges' Athletic Strategic Plan. The candidate must have strong interpersonal and human relations skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works both in and out of an office setting.
