What We Offer

This is an on-call position, which means it is a part-time, hourly role. This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The pay rate for this position $19.29/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver's 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. Oncall positions may have routine or variable work schedules.

Location

In this position you can expect to work on site at recreation centers and/or field sites throughout Denver.

What You'll Do

The City and County of Denver's Department of Parks and Recreation offers Youth Sports programming for kids ages 3 - 17 years. Our team of devoted Coaches enrich the lives of youth through engagement of sports, learning the fundamentals of numerous sports including baseball, basketball, coach pitch, T-ball, softball, flag football, gymnastics, tumbling, cheerleading, volleyball, soccer, and track and field. Below is a breakdown of our sports by season:

Winter: Basketball

Spring: Flag Football, Soccer, Volleyball

Summer: Baseball/Softball, T-Ball/Coach Pitch, Track and Field

Fall: Flag Football, Soccer, Volleyball

Year-Round: Tennis, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, Sports Camps

The fall season is just around the corner, and we are looking for enthusiastic coaches to join our team!

As a Youth Sports Assistant Coach (Recreation Assistant), you will:

  • Serve as a role model for youth in a sports program focused on sportsmanship, fun, skill development, and character development
  • Assist with the implementation of fun and creative practice plans for youth ages 3 - 17 years
  • Provide and maintain a safe environment for all participants
  • Support program rules, department policies, and provide conflict resolution and behavior management when necessary
  • Facilitate on-field/on-court officiating and instruction, as necessary
  • Attend all mandatory trainings and workshops

We are looking for coaches who can commit to the full duration of their respective season.
