Job description

We’re Hiring! Assistant Bakery Manager talent wanted for our Marketplace!

Are you a talented baker with a passion for perfection and a knack for leadership? Uncle Giuseppe’s Marketplace is rising and expanding — and we’re looking for an Assistant Bakery Manager to help lead our very busy bakery!

If you love the aroma of fresh-baked cookies, the artistry of a perfectly decorated cake, and the energy of a bustling kitchen, this is your chance to make your mark in our newest gourmet bakery. Our Assistant Bakery Managers work hand-in-hand with the Bakery Manager to create an environment where every pastry shines, every customer leaves happy, and every day feels like a celebration.

What You’ll Be Doing
  1. Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing daily operations of the bakery department.
  2. Help lead and motivate the baking team to produce our signature gourmet items — from cookies and cakes to muffins, tarts, and special orders.
  3. Ensure top-notch customer service, whether in person, at the counter, or for online orders.
  4. Support the bakery team in maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
  5. Participate in hiring, training, and developing bakery staff with guidance from the Bakery Manager.
  6. Maintain quality and consistency during high-volume periods — especially the holidays!
  7. Ensure bakery displays are fully stocked, beautifully presented, and meet Uncle G’s standards.
  8. Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally, turning challenges into positive experiences.
What You Bring to the Table
  1. High school diploma or equivalent (Pastry Chef training a plus!)
  2. 3+ years of bakery experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or management role
  3. Active food handler’s license
  4. Strong knowledge of bakery operations — including hiring, training, scheduling, and production
  5. Ability to work well under pressure, especially during busy holiday seasons
  6. Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset
  7. Fluent in English (reading, speaking, and understanding)
What’s in It for You

We value our team and show it with a comprehensive benefits package, including:

  1. Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  2. 401(k) plan
  3. 50% off lunch and 25% off in-store shopping
  4. Opportunities to grow your career in a fun, food-loving environment!
Working Conditions

This is an active role — you’ll be on your feet, moving throughout the bakery, bending, lifting (up to 30 lbs, sometimes more with help), and keeping up with the fast pace of a busy kitchen. You’ll experience both the cozy warmth of ovens and the chill of coolers, all while surrounded by the hum of a bustling marketplace.

If you’re ready to take the next step in your bakery career and bring your creativity, leadership, and love of sweets to Uncle Giuseppe’s marketplace— we can’t wait to meet you!
