Job description

Flexjet is hiring a Fleet Technical Manager specializing in Avionics to join our maintenance organization at Flexjet's facility in Cleveland, Ohio. The selected candidate will primarily focus on Embraer Phenom 300, Praetor 500 / 600 aircraft, Challenger 300/350/3500, Gulfstream G450/500/650/700. The key responsibilities include managing fleet reliability and daily dispatch operations, offering troubleshooting and AOG (Aircraft on Ground) recovery support to the maintenance control center, and collaborating with fleet OEM technical support to address and enhance fleet reliability concerns.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide technical expertise and recommendations to various support groups of the control center when requested.
  • Oversee coordination of maintenance activities for scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance as well as follow-up procedures for delays and cancellations.
  • Drive continuous improvement in aircraft availability, dispatch reliability, operating costs, and owner satisfaction with the Flexjet Technical Working Group process while also working with vendors and aircraft OEM representatives.
  • Work in cross-functional environment to develop immediate and cost-effective solutions to operational problems.
  • Assist maintenance providers and maintenance coordinators in troubleshooting complex aircraft avionic maintenance issues.
  • Reviews inspection programs, service bulletins, customer bulletins, and aircraft service changes issued by OEMs.
  • Reports directly to the Lead Fleet Technical Manager

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant license preferred or a proven avionics background.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field is desired; and/or 10 years of experience in an aviation environment.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on company specific fleet avionics preferred.
  • Must have working knowledge of applicable Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs).
  • General and Business Aviation experience preferred.

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Must have extensive experience on avionic systems across a mixed fleet
    • Embraer Phenom 300- Garmin G1000 and G3000
    • Embraer Preator 500/600 Collins Fusion
    • Challenger 300/350/3500 Collins Proline 21
    • Gulfstream G450/500/650/700 Honeywell Planeview
  • Must be familiar with multiple OEM Cabin Management Systems and Wi-Fi connectivity systems including (but not limited to)
    • Gogo L5
    • Starlink
    • Honeywell Ovation
    • Lufthansa NICE
    • Satcom Direct
    • Gulfstream Cabin Management Systems
    • Challenger Cabin Management Systems
    • Embraer Cabin Management Systems
  • Must be familiar with aircraft wiring schematics, general aircraft electrical and avionic installation, troubleshooting and repair
  • Ability to monitor avionic trends, identify recurring avionic issues and drive long term reliability recommendations
  • Must be familiar with CAMP maintenance program
  • Must be computer literate with a working knowledge of Windows and MS Office programs.
  • Ability to function effectively individually or as a team member.
  • Successful candidate will be highly motivated individual and a self-starter who works effectively under pressure and within time constraints.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work flexible schedules.
