Job description

Whether you're just getting started in commercial AV or you've got years of integration experience under your belt — if you're passionate about audio/visual technology and ready to grow, we want to talk to you about our AV Tech opportunity.

We're S&L Integrated, a commercial AV integration company that designs, installs, and services high-tech systems that help people communicate — from TVs and sound systems to video conferencing, control systems, and all the cabling that ties it together. You'll find our work in conference rooms, houses of worship, courtrooms, and classrooms. Learn more at www.slintegrated.com

We're growing, and we're building a team that grows with us. This role has a clear path — the right person could move from technician to Lead Tech as they develop their skills and demonstrate their capabilities.

What You'll Do

You'll work alongside experienced technicians installing complete AV systems based on each project's scope, timeline, and our workmanship standards. Day-to-day, that looks like:

  • Running wire and cabling
  • Hanging and installing equipment (monitors, speakers, equipment racks, etc.)
  • Gathering and organizing equipment, parts, and tools for installs
  • Returning unused parts and equipment to inventory
  • Keeping vehicles and worksites clean and organized
  • Reporting on-site risks and issues promptly to keep projects on track
  • Accurately tracking and logging time spent on each assignment

As you grow into a Lead Tech role, you'll take on greater ownership of project execution, crew coordination, and site leadership.

What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates will bring some hands-on AV experience — whether from a commercial integrator, live events, theater and stage production, house of worship tech teams, school AV programs, or similar environments. If you've worked in the field and are ready to take the next step (or a big step up), this is your opportunity.

Desired skills include:

  • Familiarity with audio, video, lighting, cabling, or low-voltage systems
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving instincts
  • Ability to read — or willingness to learn to read — blueprints and schematics
  • Comfortable using hand and power tools safely
  • Soldering skills are a plus
  • Leadership experience

All candidates must have:

  • A genuine passion for AV technology and a desire to build a long-term career in this industry
  • Stable work history and an excellent attendance record
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to quickly process information, follow directions, and produce quality work
  • A team-first attitude — we collaborate, we help each other, and we get it done
  • A valid driver's license with a driving record that meets our insurance standards
  • The ability to travel to job sites; this role requires approximately 60% overnight travel, with some multi-day projects outside of the Brentwood, TN area
  • Work hours are typically Monday–Friday, though overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

The Work Environment

This is a hands-on, physical role. You'll regularly stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work at various heights — including on ladders and scaffolding. Overhead work is common, and you'll lift and move objects up to 50 lbs on a daily basis. Some work takes place in non-climate-controlled environments.

Our team has an entrepreneurial spirit — we love a good challenge, embrace change, and are self-motivated. We move fast and look out for each other.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • 401(k) with company match
  • A clear path for career growth within a thriving industry

Before You Apply

All applicants must consent to a background check and drug screen as part of the selection process. Employment offers are contingent on passing both. You'll also need to provide documentation confirming your legal right to work in the U.S.
