Position Overview:
As an Audio Technician at Edge Media DC, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality sound for live events, broadcasts, and productions. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining audio systems to ensure clarity, balance, and consistency across a variety of environments.
This role requires both technical expertise and adaptability, with the ability to manage live sound in fast-paced settings while collaborating closely with production teams and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up, operate, and break down audio equipment for live events, church services, meetings, and productions, including mixers, microphones, speakers, monitors, and recording devices.
  • Conduct sound checks and system testing prior to events to ensure optimal audio performance.
  • Mix live audio, adjusting levels, EQ, and dynamics to maintain clarity and balance throughout events.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio issues quickly to minimize disruptions during live productions.
  • Collaborate with producers, videographers, and event organizers to understand audio needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Assist with the installation and configuration of audio systems in various venues.
  • Monitor audio feeds for live streams and recordings to ensure broadcast-quality sound.
  • Maintain and manage audio equipment inventory, including setup, storage, and basic repairs.

Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as an Audio Technician, Sound Engineer, or similar role, preferably in live events, broadcast, or production environments.
  • Strong knowledge of audio equipment, including digital and analog mixers, wireless microphone systems, PA systems, and signal flow.
  • Familiarity with audio software and systems such as Dante, Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or similar platforms is a plus.

  • Understanding of acoustics, gain structure, and live mixing techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality sound.
