* Learn to accurately enter and maintain patient information using Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) systems.

* Prepare examination and treatment rooms for patient visits.

* Assist healthcare professionals with routine clinical procedures within the apprenticeโ€™s level of training and under appropriate supervision.

* Develop skills in phlebotomy, specimen collection and handling, medication-related procedures, and other Medical Assistant clinical competencies as permitted by the employer and applicable requirements.

* Follow infection prevention, sterilization, safety, and OSHA-related procedures.

* Learn and apply medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, and other foundational healthcare concepts.

* Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in accordance with HIPAA and employer policies.

* Assist with appointment scheduling, patient flow, referrals, and other front-office responsibilities.

* Learn insurance verification, basic medical billing and coding concepts, and administrative healthcare procedures.

* Provide professional and compassionate customer service to patients and their families.

* Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, Medical Assistants, and other members of the healthcare team.

* Complete assigned Related Technical Instruction (RTI) coursework and required learning activities.

* Complete and document required On-the-Job Training (OJT) competencies and apprenticeship milestones.

* Participate in progress evaluations and demonstrate continued development of required occupational competencies.

* Follow all participating employer policies, procedures, attendance requirements, and workplace expectations.
