This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Spine Animator based in Netherlands.

As a Spine Animator, you will bring characters, user interfaces, and in-game moments to life through engaging, high-quality animations that enhance the player experience. Working within a collaborative game development environment, you will partner closely with artists, designers, and developers to create polished animations that align with the game's visual style and creative vision. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to exciting new game projects while applying your creativity, technical expertise, and strong understanding of animation principles. Accountabilities
  • Create high-quality 2D animations for characters, environments, user interface elements, and visual effects using Spine.
  • Rig, mesh, skin, and animate game assets while ensuring smooth and visually appealing motion.
  • Collaborate closely with game designers, developers, artists, and product teams to deliver engaging gameplay experiences.
  • Produce animations that align with the artistic direction, gameplay requirements, and overall visual style.
  • Contribute to the development of new game projects by creating polished animation assets from concept through implementation.
  • Refine and optimize animations based on feedback while maintaining quality and consistency across the game.
  • Support the continuous improvement of animation workflows and creative processes within the team.
Requirements
  • At least 2 years of professional animation experience, preferably within the gaming industry.
  • Strong hands-on experience using Spine, including rigging, meshing, skinning, GUI animation, and visual effects animation.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop.
  • Solid understanding and practical application of the 12 principles of animation.
  • Ability to create expressive, polished, and visually engaging character and interface animations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong artistic eye for movement, timing, and storytelling.
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Passion for video games and interactive entertainment; prior gaming industry experience is considered a strong advantage.
