What You'll Do

As a Kennel Assistant/Animal Care Specialist, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of the animals in our care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming animals for admission, ensuring proper identification, and recording their locations and charges.
  • Preparing pets for release, ensuring they are clean and well-groomed before returning to their owners.
  • Providing compassionate care to animals and exceptional customer service to their owners.
  • Answering phones and assisting clients with questions or concerns.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, and hospital areas on a regular schedule.
  • Maintaining the hospital’s grounds, including waste disposal and light landscaping.
  • Collecting urine and fecal specimens and reporting unusual conditions or behaviors.
  • Assisting doctors and technicians with patient restraint and medication administration.
  • Following OSHA standards and maintaining safety protocols.
  • Supporting the team by completing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning and maintenance tasks.
  • Helping with laundry and other duties as needed to keep the hospital running smoothly.
