Assistant Investment Analyst - DFH801
We're determined to make a difference and are proud to be an insurance company that goes well beyond coverages and policies. Working here means having every opportunity to achieve your goals - and to help others accomplish theirs, too. Join our team as we help shape the future.

With over 140 investment professionals and approximately $120 billion in assets under management across the public fixed income, equity and private markets, we deliver tailored strategies to insurance, sub-advisory and other institutional clients (as of June 30, 2026).
Our investment philosophy is centered on the belief that markets often overreact and risk can become mispriced. Identifying and exploiting these relative-value opportunities can be key to delivering consistent, risk-adjusted returns.
Overview of Position:
HIMCO is seeking an Assistant Investment Analyst to join the Public Credit Research team. This individual will support two senior fixed income analysts covering both Investment Grade and High Yield issuers.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist analysts in monitoring company and industry news as well as changes in sector trends that may affect the fundamental outlook of coverage companies.
  • Assist senior analysts in preparing credit presentations for PMs and internal/external clients.
  • Assist senior analysts in formulating and presenting investment recommendations.
  • Assist senior analysts in preparing credit recommendation updates utilizing internal systems and processes.

Qualifications:
  • 1+ years of relevant experience in credit research/fixed income, investment banking, equity research, accounting, corporate finance, or related investment role.
  • Strong academic background; preference for bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or quantitative (STEM) field
  • Strong accounting and financial statement analysis skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Powerpoint) and AI/data analytics skills. Knowledge of Bloomberg, Capital IQ or other financial statement data vendor a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing towards a culture of collaboration
  • Independent thinker; intellectually curious, with a passion for investing.
  • Progress toward CFA designation or willingness to pursue CFA is a plus but not required.
  • Depending on experience, position title will be either Senior Investment Analyst, Investment Analyst, or Assistant Investment Analyst

As a condition of your employment for HIMCO, you will be required to affirm to HIMCO's Code of Ethics and understand that you will be required to comply with the disclosure of accounts, holdings and pre-clearance of trades for the accounts of you and your household family members as more fully described in the Code of Ethics Key Points. If you will be deemed to be a "Covered Associate" under HIMCO's Pay to Play Policy, you will also need to disclose all political contributions that you have given within the past 2 calendar years.
