What You Will Be Doing:

  • Assist Sr. Manager, Digital/Editorial Operations with database and metadata management.

    • Troubleshoot and address metadata and feed issues.
    • Execute metadata feeds.
    • Act as a liaison with the distributor for metadata when needed.
    • Review metadata in batches monthly to make sure it’s up-to-date and of high quality.
    • Act as TMM and metadata backup when Sr. Manager is out.
  • Manage the complete metadata for at least one PRPG imprint.
    • Prepare each season’s metadata for the S&S sales meeting.
    • Run tip sheets for licensors, receive approvals, and lift NFOs at S&S.
    • Troubleshoot issues at retail.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including marketing, editorial, and sales—to ensure that retail product online listings are accurate, compelling, and optimized for search and media performance.
  • Use AI tools to optimize description copy, taglines, BISACs, and keywords as needed to improve discoverability on Amazon and other e-commerce sites.
  • Assist with upcoming e-commerce initiatives.
  • Manage PRPG Search Inside uploads for Amazon.
  • Manage metadata art uploads, including trade cover mocks, final covers/interiors for trade, Walmart/Target uploads, the RDS library, and others as needed.
  • Audit and ensure the RDS library remains current, including replacing cover mocks seasonally and as needed.
  • Assist with entering and managing all necessary metadata for proprietary titles in TMM to facilitate F&O set up and integration with the publishing operations workflow.
  • Enter all co-edition data into TMM.
  • Assist with the eBook conversion and publication process.
  • Choose, file, and track Lexile measures seasonally and update TMM accordingly.
  • Attend regular art and touch base meetings.
  • Receive and respond to reader mail.
  • Other duties may be assigned, directed, or requested.

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of publishing or metadata experience is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience with Firebrand’s Title Management (TMM) system is preferred.
  • Experience with books and knowledge of editorial procedures is preferred.
  • Experience using AI tools to optimize metadata and maximize discoverability is preferred.
  • Experience with Macintosh and InDesign is preferred.
  • Excellent editing, writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Efficient at multitasking and able to handle multiple projects within tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong to advanced experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
