Job description

Western Massachusetts Allergy, LLC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant for our Allergy and Immunology practice in Springfield, MA. We are searching for a friendly candidate with the ability to work comfortably with adults and children, who is excited to help patients, able to work independently and as part of a team, and with a drive for continual improvement. The practice uses a modern EHR (eClinicalWorks) with the goal of automating repeated processes, facilitating communication, and reducing paperwork.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Preparing patient rooms
  • Taking vital signs and gathering medical history using a standardized intake form
  • Performing allergy testing (skin prick, intradermal, patch)
  • Responding to patient messages through portal/phone
  • Managing patient prescriptions, refills, and prior authorizations
  • Commitment to providing excellent patient care

Work Schedule
  • Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm (fixed schedule, no evenings)

Requirements
  • Work experience as a Medical Assistant required - minimum 1 year required
  • Allergy or immunology experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) strongly preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency strongly preferred - candidates with demonstrated fluency will receive additional compensation incentives
  • Must demonstrate good computer skills and be able to embrace new technologies
  • Current CPR/BLS certification required
  • Experience implementing new processes and process improvement from a productivity standpoint
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, both written and spoken
  • Strong time management, technical, and organizational skills; ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent attendance and work ethic
  • Positive attitude and desire to contribute to the success of the practice
