Description

Optomec is seeking a customer-focused Aerosol Jet (AJ) Solutions Architect to support revenue growth and expand adoption of our advanced additive manufacturing technology. This role works closely with the Sales team and external partners to identify opportunities, develop application-driven solutions, and support the successful conversion of prospects into customers.
 

The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with experience in customer engagement, applications engineering, or technical sales support. This is a collaborative role where success is measured by contribution to opportunity development, partner enablement, customer satisfaction, and overall business growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Partner closely with Sales and channel partners to identify, develop, and advance customer opportunities

Support the sales process by translating customer and partner requirements into technical solutions

Engage directly with customers and partners to understand applications, materials, and process needs

Develop and deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept (POC) projects

Assist in preparing Statements of Work (SOWs), proposals, and quotations

Contribute to RFQ responses with technically sound and commercially aligned solutions

Act as a technical advisor to customers and partners throughout the evaluation and decision process

Support partner enablement through training, technical guidance, and joint customer engagements

Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction

Provide market, customer, and partner feedback to support product development and roadmap planning

Develop technical expertise in Aerosol Jet applications to support delivery of professional services and application development projects

Provide customer training and support on Aerosol Jet technology, materials, and processes as needed

Requirements

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, materials science, physics, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Experience in technical sales support, applications engineering, or customer-facing engineering roles

Strong ability to communicate technical concepts and customer value

Experience in electronics manufacturing, materials, or advanced manufacturing is preferred

Background or discipline in electronics is a strong plus

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Self-motivated and comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Willingness to travel up to 20%

Preferred Experience:

Experience in additive manufacturing or printed electronics

Background supporting RFQs, proposals, or customer evaluations

Experience working with channel partners or distributors

Experience delivering customer training or professional services engagements
