Job description

ClearEdge3D is a fast-growing technology company that has developed a set of groundbreaking computer vision algorithms and software that can reduce the time and cost of creating 3D Computed-Aided Design (CAD) models of process plants, buildings, bridges and entire cities by up to 70% (Yeah, it's cool stuff!)

Job Purpose: Applications Engineer I (Assistant AE) is the entry level position as a member of the Applications Engineering Team. The Assistant AE focuses on effectively supporting and training users as well as testing the software. The Assistant AE should learn to become proficient in department-specific systems such as Salesforce, Testrail, JIRA, Confluence, and the IT infrastructure. The Assistant AE takes day-to-day and week-to-week instruction from an AE Lead, AE senior and/or AE/QA Manager. The Assistant AE responsibilities can range from being focused on one product or aspect of the job, to being a generalist, depending on the requirements and needs of the company at the time.

Core Job Duties

Dedicate time and effort to learn products and support processes while handling simpler customer interactions. This includes responding to support tickets with assistance, helping users operate company software, supporting customer training and demos, and escalating complex issues appropriately.

Support software testing activities while developing proficiency in testing tools, processes, and product behavior. Testing duties include executing assigned tests, assisting with software and hardware testing, documenting test results, and learning to identify and report defects.

Provide support when needed for internal IT and business operations in support of the development, product, marketing, and sales teams.

Communicate customer feedback and feature requests to Application Engineer team leads and Product Management.

Education and Experience:

  • No prior experience required.
  • Technology-related degree is not required, but is a bonus
  • Experience in the construction industry, 3D modeling, laser scanning, or software development are not required, but are a bonus

Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes:

  • Comfortable in a technical environment.
  • Great verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
  • Great customer service skills.
  • Good at switching tasks quickly in a complex environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of computer use.
  • Ability toparticipatein remote meetings across global time zones.
  • Occasional travel for team meetings, customer visits, or conferences (typically < 10%).
