Job Description
The Trulaske College of Business has an immediate opening for an Academic Advisor. to advise students with interest in the Trulaske College of Business regarding issues such as degree requirements, choosing a major, academic standing concern, course registration and other concerns.
Responsibilities include:
Advise undergraduate business students or students who want to be business majors:
• Track progress for applying to the upper level
• Check graduation requirements
• Counsel on career preparation
• Academic counseling
• Advise students regarding students schedule
• Advise students wanting to change major to business
• Work with academic standing
• Maintain communication with advisees
• Evaluate transcripts
• Referrals
• Transitional Advising
• Assist with the college's graduation
Assist with the development of programming for Trulaske College of Business students
Other duties as assigned by the Director of Undergraduate Advising.
Shift
Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm occasional evening and weekends
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
• Master's degree or bachelor's degree with equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
• Prefer experience 1-2 years working in higher education serving as an advisor to students. Knowledge of academic policies and student affairs is also beneficial.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $40,040.00 - $55,000.00 per year
Grade: GGS-008
University Title: Academic Advisor
