Houston, TX law firm is seeking an experienced full-time Legal Assistant - HOA & Collections
A well-established law firm providing comprehensive legal services in business, real estate, corporate development, litigation, tax, and estate planning is seeking a Legal Assistant to support its HOA and collections practice group. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and enjoys handling a variety of administrative and legal support responsibilities.
The successful candidate will work closely with attorneys and leadership while assisting with foreclosure matters, collections, legal document preparation, and day-to-day case management functions.
Preferred Qualifications
Proficient in MS Office.
Experience in HOA legal admin or assistant roles.
Full-time, in-person availability (remote option negotiable).
High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
1-3+ years of experience.
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines. ∙ Excellent communication and writing skills.
Knowledge of legal terms and procedures.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet physical job requirements (lifting up to 20 lbs).
Responsibilities
Assist with foreclosure actions, including preparing liens and Notices of Default. ∙ Update delinquent accounts, calculating late fees and interest.
Prepare and finalize demand letters.
Conduct title searches and research active bankruptcy cases.
Use billing and calendaring systems.
Communicate with board members, homeowners, and clients.
Maintain and file judicial and non-judicial collection files.
Perform data entry and document filing, including court submissions.
Draft legal documents, contracts, and correspondence.
Assist in trial preparation, including organizing discovery and exhibits.
Perform general administrative tasks as needed.
Location: Houston, TX, 77057
Position: On-site to start; hybrid after 1 year with the firm and no disciplinary issues and billables are hit.
Billable Hours: $10,500/week
Salary: 60-75k commensurate with experience; HOA a plus
