Job description

Information Technology Trainer
Position Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Technology Trainer to support end users through the delivery of technology training programs, software adoption initiatives, and user enablement efforts. This individual will play a key role in onboarding new employees, developing training materials, facilitating classroom and virtual instruction, and promoting the effective use of business technology applications.
The ideal candidate will have experience delivering technical training within a professional services or corporate environment and possess the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to users with varying levels of technical proficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Development
  • Schedule and deliver new hire technology training programs.
  • Research, develop, organize, and facilitate training initiatives for end users across a variety of software applications and technology platforms.
  • Conduct instructor-led, virtual, and one-on-one training sessions.
  • Assess user training needs and provide targeted training and support.
  • Create, maintain, and distribute training materials, including user guides, quick reference materials, bulletins, and instructional documentation.
  • Coordinate classroom and virtual training environments to support training sessions.

Technology Adoption & Project Support
  • Participate in technology implementation projects, software rollouts, testing initiatives, and system upgrades.
  • Assist with regression testing, business process analysis, software evaluations, and user acceptance activities.
  • Gather feedback from users and stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and enhanced training programs.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure smooth deployment and adoption of new technologies.

User Support & Communication
  • Build strong relationships with employees and business stakeholders to understand technology needs and promote user adoption.
  • Communicate training opportunities and maintain training calendars and attendance records.
  • Assist with troubleshooting software-related issues and escalate technical concerns when appropriate.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for technology best practices and productivity tools.

Content Development
  • Develop and update training content for software applications, system enhancements, and technology initiatives.
  • Evaluate new software solutions and recommend effective training approaches.
  • Support the development of eLearning content and self-service training resources.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with business leaders and stakeholders to identify department-specific training needs.
  • Coordinate with internal technology teams and external vendors to support training initiatives.
  • Assist consultants and third-party providers in the delivery of specialized training programs.

Qualifications
Required
  • Strong verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively deliver training in one-on-one, small group, and classroom environments.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, user-friendly language.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with users ranging from beginner to advanced skill levels.
  • Customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work occasional overtime as needed.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience delivering end-user technology training in a corporate or professional services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 11, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Acrobat, document management systems, Apple iOS and macOS devices, and document comparison and document creation tools.

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education, Communications, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience delivering technical training within a professional services, corporate, or consulting environment.
  • Experience supporting software adoption, change management, and user enablement initiatives.
  • Experience with time and billing software, CRM platforms, learning management systems, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, and other eLearning development platforms.
  • Experience creating online learning content, video tutorials, and self-paced training materials.

Compensation: $65 to $70 an hour
Compensation is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
