Position Summary
Under the direction of the Recreation Supervisor or Recreation Coordinator, performs various tasks as necessary to provide recreation services to the St. George Community.
Essential Functions/Typical Working/Mental Demands/Working Conditions
(Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. The list of tasks is illustrative only and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.)
1. Officiates sport games for adults include one or more of the following: flag football, volleyball, basketball, pickleball, ultimate frisbee and futsal.
2. Set up and take down all equipment during shifts.
3. Writes injury reports for players that get injured during the course of a game.
4. Writes ejection reports for any coach/player that gets ejected from a game.
5. Assists in field preparation for each sport.
6. Performs other related duties as required.
Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions
Conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the assignment. Requires the use of vision and/or hearing to identify and evaluate emergencies. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies. Requires moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds of force frequently. Mental demands of intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior.
Note: Individuals in this position must be able to work nights and weekends. A typical assignment will require 4-5 hours. A typical Saturday assignment will require 6-8 hours.
Qualifications
Education: None required.
Experience: Prior officiating experience preferred but not required.
Age Requirement: All applicants must be 18 years or older.
Licenses and/or Certifications:
CPR, First Aid, and AED certification required. Must be obtained within 60 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of:
Working knowledge of rules and official mechanics in flag football, volleyball, basketball, soccer, and baseball/softball preferred.

Note: Golf course privileges are based on availability. Employees can book a tee-time within 24 hours or the same day, but may be turned away if there are no available tee-times. If you happen to be golfing with at least 2 paying customers; tee times can be set with more advance notice, but are still based on availability. Red Hills Golf Course will not be available to schedule tee times in advance --- walk on play based on availability only.
