KFSN-TV/ABC30 Action News, the ABC Owned Station in Central California, delivers top-rated news coverage across television, digital, social, and streaming platforms. The team is committed to impactful storytelling, breaking news, and community engagement.

We're seeking a General Assignment Reporter who thrives on breaking news and excels at telling accurate, balanced, and engaging stories.The role requires a highly organized self-starter who will report for the station's newscasts and digital platforms, all while keeping the audience updated along the way on social media. Our reporters are expected to research, pitch, and write creative and memorable stories, often fronting them with active live shots.Reporters must also be willing and able to shoot and edit stories whenever necessary.

Key qualities we value:

  • Excellent research and news writing skills
  • Strong on-camera presence with ability to effectively deliver live breaking news, without a script
  • Proven ability to collaborate with photojournalists, producers, assignment editors, and managers to execute story assignments.

We're seeking someone who is:

  • 3+ years of reporting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of the Central Valley
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish preferred)
  • Success creating engaging vertical videos for social media
  • Strong understanding of politics, including local government

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between SAG-AFTRA and KFSN-TV. The pay rate for this role in Fresno, California is $60,000 to $70,000 per year. The pay rate actually offered may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. The role also has potential for additional compensation for overtime and early morning/overnight shifts.
