Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an Acute Hospital position requiring an active AK RN license and Epic EMR experience.

Details
  • Work in the Case Management/Utilization Review department of a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma acute care hospital
  • Day shift schedule consisting of 5x8-hour shifts, with start times varying between 0700-1530, 0730-1600, 0800-1630, or 0830-1700
  • Every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within the hospital and to nearby affiliate hospitals within the region
  • Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
  • Active AK RN license required in hand for consideration
  • BLS certification required, ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Case management experience preferred, including admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, medical necessity determination, and utilization review
  • Familiarity with InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines preferred
  • Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, ICD-10 coding, and regulatory/accreditation standards preferred
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable setting required
Additional Information
  • Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, continued stay reviews, determining medical necessity per evidence-based guidelines, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
  • May also involve pre-certification and prior authorization reviews, as well as workers' compensation case management
  • Scrubs provided by the facility
  • Free parking available
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
  • Only 1 time off request of 5 days or less permitted per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off allowed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return to the same facility
  • Only Hepatitis B vaccination records are accepted; titers or declinations are not permitted
