Job description

Asset Protection Investigator

The Asset Protection investigator is a full-time hourly employee reporting directly to the Asset Protection Leadership Team. This role will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of Asset Protection, investigations, physical security, and safety for The RealReal's Authentication Center.

What You Get To Do Everyday
  • Manage all inbound and outbound investigations.
  • Identify, investigate, and bring to closure incidents of internal theft, external theft and fraud cases as needed.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with Law Enforcement.
  • Maintain all employee ID badge issuance and access control standards.
  • Conduct High Value Investigations
  • Review and audit procedures of all inbound and outbound merchandise.
  • Conduct quality inspections on packaging and documentation ensuring all Asset Protection measures have been adhered too.
  • Conduct shortage and safety inspections and communicate findings to Asset Protection Leadership.
  • Participate in the training of employees to increase Asset Protection awareness.
  • Take an active role in identifying all forms of loss.
  • Assist in identifying short/shrink trends and introduce solutions to reduce them.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Loss Prevention Leadership Team.
  • Secure the front entrance as needed and conduct security screenings of employees, vendors and guests.
  • Assists with exceptions based issues and leadership as assigned.
  • Support Health and Safety initiatives.
What You Bring To The Role
  • 3+ years of Asset Protection experience (warehouse environment preferred).
  • Flexibility to work weekends as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move 50lbs of merchandise and supplies.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of leadership.
  • Experience operating and monitoring CCTV systems.
  • Effective communicator (both verbal and written).
  • Demonstrates the skill and willingness to take initiative and to proactively anticipate organizational needs including the ability to meet deadlines as required.
  • Ability to accurately record incidents by writing clear and concise reports.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace and changing environment with tremendous growth.

The expected hourly rate for this role is $22.5-$26.27. To determine starting pay we carefully consider a variety of factors, including primary work location and an evaluation of a candidate's skills, experience, market demands, and internal parity. Additionally, salary is just one component of TRR's total rewards package. Depending on role, employees may also be eligible for a bonus program, incentive pay and benefits.
