YOU WILL BE:
The Asset Protection Investigator is responsible for protecting company assets by preventing and investigating internal and external theft, conducting apprehensions in accordance with policy and law, and supporting inventory integrity initiatives. Reporting to the Asset Protection Manager, the API plays a critical role in maintaining a safe selling environment through active floor presence, investigations, audits, and associate awareness.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Identify, investigate, and document internal and external theft incidents
  • Conduct apprehensions in strict accordance with company policy and all applicable laws
  • Develop investigative leads and prepare complete, accurate, and timely case reports
  • Assist in preparing cases for interviews and potential prosecution
  • Testify in criminal court proceedings when required
  • Maintain an active sales floor presence to deter theft and protect merchandise
  • Conduct associate huddles and awareness discussions focused on shortage prevention, safety, and policy compliance
  • Support a safe selling environment while modeling customer service standards
  • Execute operational audits and self-audits in assigned areas, ensuring accurate documentation
  • Identify process gaps and control weaknesses and communicate findings to the Asset Protection Manager
  • Support physical inventory activities and reconciliation efforts as needed
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with local law enforcement to support successful case resolution
  • Identify and report security risks, safety concerns, and loss exposures
  • Uphold high ethical standards and reinforce company values with associates and leadership
  • Ensure compliance with all Asset Protection policies, apprehension guidelines, and training requirements
  • Reliable and dependable, with a demonstrated commitment to meeting scheduling, timekeeping, and attendance expectations.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 2 years of retail Asset Protection experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with retail security systems e.g. Case management, CCTV
