Job description

Overview

United Community is looking for Special Assets Administrative Support Specialist I  to support and other Administrative duties relating to Loss Mitigation and Special Assets Management. Plays an active role in the department to minimize loss to the bank.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with various projects and maintain records on trends in the department.
  • Assist Loss Mitigation personnel in various administrative duties.
  • Ability to handle incoming inquiries related to Loss Mitigation with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain files on property taxes and communication with tax service provider.
  • Review and prepare invoices for payment.
  • Review and pay property taxes.
  • Compiling and maintaining information on various spreadsheets regarding Loss Mitigation packages, unpaid taxes, appraisal orders, etc.
  • Maintain past due queues and transfer loans into Loss Mitigation, including coding systems regarding transfer.
  • Correspond with various departments of the bank for loan booking, loan transfers, etc.
  • Order supplies for the department.
  • Order flood certifications, title updates, and appraisals on Loss Mitigation loans.
  • Book closing packages and loan payments.
  • Must have the ability to navigate the Internet for research relating to taxes, deed information, property records and other real estate related information.
  • Back up to Special Assets Management support specialist administrative duties.
Requirements For Success
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in credit related position preferred
  • Good telephone and customer service skills
  • Good communication and public relations skills
  • Must have good computer skills and be able to use:
  • Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Access
  • Must have the ability to operate standard office equipment
  • Strong documentation knowledge preferred
  • General knowledge of legal documentation and perfection of real estate documents
  • Solid understanding of financial institution policies and procedures
  • Must be a detail oriented persona and be able to keep a working filing system
  • Must have the ability to multi task and work within certain deadlines
  • Must have the ability to learn Navigator, Director, Shaw and any other operating system utilized by the Loss
  • Mitigation and/or Special Assets Management.
  • Participate and complete all required compliance training, including Bank Secrecy Act/anti-money laundering training, as well as internal, external, and online training programs, meetings, and seminars/conferences, etc.
Conditions of Employment
  • Must be able to pass a background & credit check.
  • This is a full-time, on-site position.

Travel: Up to 20% travel required.
