Proficiency with asset management software, barcoding systems, and ERP tools is commonly required, along with experience in data entry and reporting. Effective communication, problem-solving ability, and adaptability are valuable soft skills for managing multiple assets and coordinating with various departments. These skills and qualities ensure the accurate monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of valuable company resources.
A professional in Asset Tracking is generally responsible for maintaining up-to-date records of company assets, conducting regular audits, and ensuring that each item is properly tagged and documented in the tracking system. Collaboration with other departments is common, as you’ll often work with facilities, operations, or IT staff to track equipment.
