What You Will Be Doing:
As a Strategic Account Manager you will support our customers in your designated territory. The Strategic Account Manager is responsible for providing exemplary customer satisfaction through the sale of Building Construction Products (BCP) and services to both assigned and new customers offered by Yancey. Bros. Co. This position will work as a team with the Prime Product Sales Rep and Cat Rental Store Rep and will serve as the primary liaison between Yancey Bros. Co. and the customer.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Prospect and obtain new business for customers that are not currently doing business with Yancey Bros. Co. Over 50% of the territory business will come from new customers.
  • Build relationships with key decision makers to obtain sales. Act as liaison and single point of contact with customers that purchase Caterpillar Building Construction Products
  • Demonstrate key machine features and benefits and explain the Caterpillar value to both existing and new customers.
  • Meet all performance standards for gross sales dollars, profits, units, and close ratios.
  • Develop an annual forecast and marketing plan for assigned territory, and complete a monthly update of the 90 day forecast.
  • Maintain an average of 20 sales calls per day. Enter all call reports and account activity on a daily basis.
  • Keep updated records of machine population in the assigned territory.
  • Process Machine Orders, finance documents, and rental agreements in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in required safety program, and work in a safe manner.
  • Additional duties as assigned by manager.
Who We Are Looking For:
To be successful in this position you should have prior sales experience within an assigned territory, knowledge of tools applicable to the position and the desire to learn. You should possess a strong sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to take direction and work in a team environment is essential to this position as well.
Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree, Associate's Degree, or Technical School degree in related field required or Equivalent sales and equipment experience can be substituted.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
  • Qualified candidate must have prior outside sales experience calling on customers and the ideal candidate will have experience calling on small and medium-sized contractors
  • High energy, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic required.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
  • Prior territory management experience preferred
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
