Job description

Discount Drug Mart is currently looking for a Full-Time Retail Store Detective / Loss Prevention Associate position at our retail store locations in Lorain County.


  • Store locations may include: Lorain, Amherst, Elyria, etc.
  • The ideal candidate would have at least 2+ years of retail loss prevention experience.


Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must have a Criminal Justice background or career path
  • 2+ years of experience in Loss Prevention/Asset Protection (preferably in a retail environment)
  • Must have the ability to work independently
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as disciplined when working alone
  • Must have a a well-rounded knowledge base of Microsoft Word, Excel and email
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts


Responsibilities for Loss Prevention Associate:

  • Be a presence for the store near store front entrance and by the cash register area. Focus will be on being visible to the customers and interact with the customers entering the store.
  • Conduct investigations, identify any theft or shortage trends and potential risks.
  • Walk the entire store once per hour.
  • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with store level management on a daily basis.
  • The successful candidate will carry themselves in an approachable manner and will be customer service orientated, even during uncomfortable situations.
  • Must be able to conduct themselves in a respectful and professional manner at all times.
