Compensation: Compensation for this position starts at $18 per hour.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maximize the effectiveness of the Asset Protection Team through continuous training per Scheels' expectations and policies
  • Elevate the customer experience by maintaining a highly visible appearance to create a welcoming and safe environment for customers and associates
  • Complete routine audits that include commission, employee purchase, and time clock expectations, and prepare detailed and accurate reports promptly
  • Conduct safety walks per a routine to identify, solve, follow up, and raise awareness for all Scheels staff
  • Protect company assets, including associates, customers, merchandise, and the physical structure of the store
  • Conduct surveillance visually and/or by effectively utilizing surveillance equipment throughout the store
  • Properly obtain, store, and log all relevant evidence per Scheels procedures, and maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Assist in investigating irregularities in Firearms regarding compliance or process concerns.
  • Collaborate with Leadership to monitor store compliance per Scheels' policies and expectations
  • Take appropriate action per Scheels' standards and expectations to prevent theft, apprehending individuals engaged in theft when prevention is not effective
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and/or early morning hours based on business needs

Education & Experience:
  • The ideal candidate will have an associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Occupational Safety, or a related field preferred and/or 2-3 years of experience
  • Experience in leading associates at a high level
  • Preference for candidates with prior Loss prevention (2-3 years) and/or Scheels leadership experience
  • Proven track record of strong communication and organization skills
  • Currently certified or willing to become certified in CPR and OC (Oleoresin Capsicum, aka pepper spray) foam deployment

Physical Requirements/Lifting Requirements:
Must be able to sit, stand, bend at the waist, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, walk, push/pull, lift, talk, and hear with or without reasonable accommodation.
Heavy work - Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
